Alessia D’Accardio Berlinguer is a PhD Candidate in Arabic Dialectology at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, she is in co-tutorship with INALCO-LACNAD. She obtained her BA from the University of Palermo and her MA from the University of Naples “L’Orientale” in Languages, History and Culture of Islamic and Mediterranean countries. She graduated in Modern Standard Arabic from the Institut Bourguiba des Langues Vivantes (IBLV), Tunis. Her research interests cover Maghrebi lexicography, dialectology and historical linguistics. The topic of her PhD research is “The Arabic Spoken in Kairouan (Tunisia): a reassessment of the Arabization of North Africa”.
