Laura Morreale is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Perugia. She has previously obtained her MA degree in Languages, History and Culture of Mediterranean and Islamic countries at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, and a Postgraduate Specialization in The International Protection of Human Rights at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Her research interests include authoritarianism in the Arabic world, political and religious movements in the area, and postcolonial North-South relations, with a focus on aid and on migration control. She is currently working on the role of multilateral aid organizations in post-independence Tunisia.
